It looks like s…

It looks like skies will finally brighten! All our plants need a good dose of sun after all the cloudiness and rain. If lawns and veggies look a bit yellow, it’s because nutrient has been leached out of the soil by so much rain. We suggest a gentle, slow release all natural fertilizer to rectify this condition.

Keep an eye out for slugs; they are out there in abundance and can cause immense damage to your veggies, hostas and a myriad of other plants. We stock natural controls.

Foliage is lush due to all this moisture, and trees and shrugs can get a bit out of hand. We find no problem in pruning unruly branches at this time. On shrubs that bloom, such as rhododendrons, you will forfeit blooming the following year if you cut into old wood. Don’t prune more than 20% overall. It’s beneficial to dead-head spent blossoms.

It’s time for annual grub control at this time of the month.

We will be be closed for vacation July1-July 10. Please plan accordingly.
